Been a while since I've updated this, I know. But this update is with good reason. I've had the chance to talk to a Ranger I haven't seen in a long time (I am so sorry...)

Gold_ranger: Those "weird hooded things" are Incognitos. They're the equivalent of Putties...or whatever the equivalent for your team is.
Gold_ranger: What team are you a part of, by the way?
Sanguinechronos: Time Force
Gold_ranger: Time Force? Interesting.
Sanguinechronos: I;'m not from the future like the rest of the team, though.
Gold_ranger: ...how did that work?
Sanguinechronos: They came to 2001, chasing a criminal through time
Gold_ranger: and they found you?
Sanguinechronos: The morphers are DNA based and I just so happened to be the ancestor of their leader, who was wounded and had to stay in the year 3000.
Gold_ranger: wow.
Gold_ranger: Sounds like you got to be a Ranger on a technicality.
Sanguinechronos: Pretty much, yeah ^_^;;
Gold_ranger: I guess this is where I'm supposed to say that I have heard stranger Ranger origin stories, but this one...I dunno...
Sanguinechronos: Heheh. I still find it odd and I'm part of the story =P
Gold_ranger: So did your team fight in the 2000s?
Gold_ranger: I know Trip is a part of Team Time Force but I don't talk to him as much as I should...
Sanguinechronos: Yeah, we fought in 2001. Trip's around? Awesome!
Gold_ranger: little guy with green hair and a jewel in his forehead? Yeah, he's around.
Sanguinechronos: Cool, haven't seen him in a long time
Gold_ranger: So...have you gone to the future?
Sanguinechronos: Nope. Wish I had been able to, though
Gold_ranger: Must've been rough for your teammates. This era must be like the stone age to them.

Gold_ranger: Who are the Silver Guardians?
Sanguinechronos: A branch of law enforcement in Silver Hills. If I was the kind to make guesses, I'd guess thy might become Time Force later

I'm worried.

As anyone whose talked to me since we've gotten our powers back knows, I've been training hard basically every day. I have nothing but faith in my physical strength and martial arts skills, but the Golden Power, though...

It's another story altogether.

In my last fight with Bowser and Dyna, I hit Bowser with a Gold Rush at point blank range and he got right back up on his feet. I know I'm stronger than this; I just know it!

(sigh) I'm gonna speak with Alpha X later, see if he has any ideas how I can augment my Ranger powers. I sure as hell don't want any more repeat performances...

I admit I haven't gotten to know some of the younger guys as of late. Perhaps I'm becoming aloof in my old age. o_o;

But today was different, as I got to talk to Zhane.

Gold_ranger: Hello Zhane.
Silver_in_space: Hey, Jason. 'sup?
Gold_ranger: not much.
Gold_ranger: We haven't had much time to talk.
Silver_in_space: That's true. What do you wanna talk about?
Gold_ranger: well, for starters...you're part of team In Space, right?
Silver_in_space: Yeah.
Gold_ranger: so, do you live on Earth?
Silver_in_space: Yeah. I have since 2000.
Gold_ranger: What about before? I had little time to talk with Andros, and I haven't seen him in a while.
Silver_in_space: Well we used to live on the Megaship. Then after the Dark Spectre incident the two of us moved back to KO-35.
Gold_ranger: What was that?
Silver_in_space: KO-35 or the incident?
Gold_ranger: the incident, first.
Silver_in_space: The incident where the United Alliance of Evil tried to conquer the galaxy.
Gold_ranger: something like the Legion of Doom, then?
Gold_ranger: What kinda names were on that roster?
Silver_in_space: Let's see...Astronema, Zedd, Rita, the Machine Empire, Master Vile, Divatox...too many to name.
Gold_ranger: I was wondering what happened to Rita and Zedd...
Gold_ranger: You wouldn't believe the nightmares they gave the original five.
Silver_in_space: Zordon's wave purified those two and Divatox. They're harmless now...I hope.
Gold_ranger: That was when Zordon...
Gold_ranger: ...sacrificed himself...
Silver_in_space: Yeah...it sucked...
Gold_ranger: but it was worth it.
Gold_ranger: he did what needed to be done.
Silver_in_space: Yeah. It's understandable.
Gold_ranger: So what was KO-35 like?
Silver_in_space: Mostly what people on Earth would call futuristic cities.
Gold_ranger: interesting.
Gold_ranger: Though the Dark Spectre incident probably was bigger than Operation: Forever Red
Silver_in_space: Much bigger. Though, Operation: Forever Red destroyed a similar threat.
Gold_ranger: ah, I see you're aware of it
Gold_ranger: You know, I almost wasn't a part of that.
Silver_in_space: Why's that? You're one of the best Earth ever had...right?
Gold_ranger: true.
Gold_ranger: If you checked the PR database, there was only one other S-class Ranger, ever.
Gold_ranger: I'm one of them, and Tommy Oliver was the other.
Silver_in_space: Wonder where I rank... =P heh
Gold_ranger: well, from what I've researched, if you go by "Ranger Academy" standards, you have to be at least a D-class to be considered a Ranger.
Gold_ranger: the next highest after Tommy and I is Billy.
Gold_ranger: I don't know about anyone else, though.
Silver_in_space: Just curious =P
Gold_ranger: But, back to Forever Red...
Gold_ranger: Tommy got contacted by team Time Force about a threat that was overlooked.
Gold_ranger: So Tommy got in contact with every Red Ranger at the time (team Wild Force was the active team at the time).
Silver_in_space: I see. That's interesting...
Gold_ranger: Tommy had been badgering me for weeks to be a part of this. Like I said, I almost didn't want to go.
Gold_ranger: Not out of fear, you understand...
Silver_in_space: Of course not ^_^
Gold_ranger: it was towards the end of team Zeo's run.
Gold_ranger: I got the Golden Power from a man named Trey of Trifornia, who was the original Gold Ranger.
Silver_in_space: I know of him. KO-35 has a business pact with Triforia.
Gold_ranger: yeah
Gold_ranger: See, Trey got into a rut when the Golden Power made him split into his three proponent forms
Gold_ranger: Trey of Courage, Trey of Wisdom and Trey of Heart.
Silver_in_space: Whoa...now that's crazy.
Gold_ranger: he came to Earth and asked Zordon for someone else to take the Gold Power.
Gold_ranger: Billy was the first choice, and if I had any say, he would've gotten the Gold Power anyway.
Gold_ranger: but when the original Command Center was destroyed, he was riddled with negatively-charged protons, which blocked the Gold Power.
Silver_in_space: Those crazy protons =P
Gold_ranger: yeah.
Gold_ranger: So next thing I know, I'm the Gold Ranger.
Silver_in_space: That's awesome.
Gold_ranger: at first, yeah.
Gold_ranger: But then, I started to suffer at the hands of the Gold Power too
Gold_ranger: I had to return the powers to Trey otherwise I would've died.
Silver_in_space: Damn. Those powers sound way too unstable...
Gold_ranger: that made me really upset.
Gold_ranger: I was pretty depressed.
Silver_in_space: I'd be depressed too, man.
Gold_ranger: I became a wanderer
Gold_ranger: traveling all around the country, just training
Gold_ranger: Hoping to forget...
Gold_ranger: so when Tommy asked me to return for what I thought was one last hurrah, I almost couldn't bring myself to do it.
Gold_ranger: What if the Red Ranger's powers wouldn't work for me?
Silver_in_space: Oh...I can relate...
Gold_ranger: I remember the look everyone gave me when I arrived
Gold_ranger: just before they were gonna take off.
Silver_in_space: Andros told me about it, a little.
Gold_ranger: I remember everyone heard my motorcycle pull up, and everyone knew it was me
Gold_ranger: They just stared at me for a while, like they weren't sure it was me...
Silver_in_space: Hehe...
Silver_in_space: People do the same when you wake up from a coma...
Silver_in_space: anyway...
Gold_ranger: so how have you been?
Silver_in_space: Good. My apartment's a mess, though.
Gold_ranger: how bad we talking?
Silver_in_space: Pizza boxes everywhere, tons of beer bottles...I never wanna host another party, heh
Gold_ranger: heh
Silver_in_space: I'll get it cleaned up eventually...

Today was interesting. I caught up with Billy and Adam - and later Conner - at this coffee house in downtown Angel Grove earlier today. I missed hanging out with the guys like this. Some pretty deep stuff was shared all around. But in the middle of it, there was an Incognito attack.

About twelve, maybe a baker's dozen altogether. Billy, Adam, Conner and I took them out with little trouble. Adam injured his shoulder, and Billy helped him get home alright. I debuted my Gold Starstorm attack today, and it really got the job done. Billy...(phew), Billy's method of fighting was nothing short of feral. Before the fight, I saw him crack a smile that I never saw him get when we were fighting Putties or Cogs way back when. Hell, it got ME pumped for battle.

All in all, it was a great fight. The Rangers were at the top of the game. I'm proud to fight alongside these guys. By the way, the coffee shop was still in one piece after the fight.

...I still never got my damn pie.

Gold_ranger: It went pretty well.
Wolf_in_blue: Good to hear. I' was hoping to see Rocky, but I think he's resting now.
Gold_ranger: Yeah, I called it quits for the day before I exhausted myself.
Wolf_in_blue: Probably a wise call since we have no idea when a battle could ensue.
Gold_ranger: true.
Gold_ranger: And while morphing does give you a rush of power, when you demorph, the battle fatigue just adds to how you were feeling beforehand.
Wolf_in_blue: True, I should see if my research notes have been retained in the database.
Wolf_in_blue: I briefly looked into the long term effects morphing was having on us physically... unfortunately I didn’t make much progress before I went to Aquitar.
Gold_ranger: well, what have you discovered so far?
Wolf_in_blue: That the morphin grid gives us more resistance to fatigue and illness than a normal human. The long term effects could be hazardous if we were suddenly cut off from the morphin grid or forcibly seperated from our powers. Somehow I have the feeling we wont be losing them so easily this time around.
Gold_ranger: interesting.
Gold_ranger: now by "forcibly separated," do you mean, taking too much damage in battle and unwillingly demorphing separated?
Wolf_in_blue: That or in a more permanent sense, having our powers ripped from us like when Ivan Ooze nearly destroyed the Power Chamber years ago.
Gold_ranger: I don't remember him. What happened there?
Wolf_in_blue: He broke into the chamber and destroyed our old morphin powers. We journeyed to Phaedos and gained the Ninjetti powers from Dulcea, the planets master warrior.
Wolf_in_blue: Thats when we became linked to our Totem Spirit animals.
Gold_ranger: And that's where your Ninjetti powers came from?
Wolf_in_blue: yes
Gold_ranger: I would've loved to be around for that.
Wolf_in_blue: It wasnt easy, we had to fight of Golems and Tengas to reach the Great Power at the Monolith... Dulcea couldnt assist us either, due to being connected to the plateau's powers. She would have aged rapidly and died if she had ventured from the plateau.
Wolf_in_blue: I think you would be the Lion, it fits you somehow.
Gold_ranger: What other animals were there?
Wolf_in_blue: Rocky was the Ape, Aisha was the Bear, Adam the Frog, Tommy the Falcon, Kim the Crane and I, the Wolf
Gold_ranger: nice.
Wolf_in_blue: very.
Gold_ranger: Speaking of Rocky, do you know what Powers he got back?
Wolf_in_blue: Ithink the Red Morphin powers
Gold_ranger: Then that means--oh wait...
Gold_ranger: He never got to pilot the Tyrannosaurus, did he?
Wolf_in_blue: No, I believe he joined the team after we got the Thunder Zords
Gold_ranger: Yeah, that's right.
Gold_ranger: the Green Ranger powers were long gone, and we had the White Ranger around...

Wolf_in_blue: We have an interesting mix with the current members who've returned.
Gold_ranger: a good balance of old and new.

Gold_ranger: the newer Rangers have some interesting powers.
Gold_ranger: I'm really drawn to the Ninja Storm powers...
Wolf_in_blue: True... I'm wondering how Ranger teams have developed in the future?

Gold_ranger: How did the NinjaZords handle?
Wolf_in_blue: Like we were made for them...It was beautiful to watch them in action Jase.
Gold_ranger: really fluid, really responsive controls?
Wolf_in_blue: yes, like driving a custom built car made just for you.

Gold_ranger: I'll admit, the Tyrannosaurus did feel a little clunky...
Wolf_in_blue: As did the Triceratops at times
Gold_ranger: and even in Pyramidus, something like a stray meteorite did as much damage as a bug on a windshield.

Gold_ranger: Hell, chances are if I DID run over anyone I wouldn't know about it until I took it in for the 3000 light year tune-up
Wolf_in_blue: Ugh... that would be a nasty sight.
Gold_ranger: I'd have some...explaining to do.
Wolf_in_blue: I really doubt you could get out of it either. I'd rather not think of the result of you accidentally running roughshod over some poor civilian and not realizing it until later.
Gold_ranger: Me neither.
Wolf_in_blue: I've been itching for something to do in the interim between fights. I'm getting a bit nutty I think... sitting around in this apt or the command centre with nothing to keep me occupied
Gold_ranger: You're a teacher, right?
Wolf_in_blue: Yes, however teaching the physical sciences is problematic at best via the internet
Gold_ranger: I can see where that can be a problem.
Wolf_in_blue: I'm slightly worried about my position though. As a tenured faculty member, I can take sabbatical for various reasons, but its not unlimited
Gold_ranger: Let me guess, you can only take it for some reasons, and only a certain number of times, right?
Wolf_in_blue: Exactly. I've taken a personal leave sabbatical this time, since I've not really taken time off since my appointment to the faculty there.
Gold_ranger: It's pretty hard to keep our identities a secret...
Wolf_in_blue: *sighs* Yes, and I cant really abandon my class for a battle.
Gold_ranger: Remember that time we got thrown in detention, the five of us?
Wolf_in_blue: Yes... that was amusing at least now it is
Gold_ranger: our communicators kept going off and we had to sit there, boy that was nerve wracking.
Wolf_in_blue: yeah and the fact that Bulk and Skull were still in their must find out the Rangers identity phase, it was especially grating
Gold_ranger: here's what I remember about that day:
Gold_ranger: Bulk: Hey, that' s MY seat, geek!
Me: Well I don't see your name on it.
(clears the desk with a swipe of his arm)
Bulk: Look there...B-U-U-L-K. "Bulk!"
Wolf_in_blue: Ah yes, Farkus was never too adept at anything related to academics
Gold_ranger: It still amazes me that he and Skull became detectives.
Wolf_in_blue: Lt. Stone must have been hard up for staff.
Gold_ranger: heh, probably.
Gold_ranger: but I hear Bulk's doing well with his business.
Wolf_in_blue: *smirks* I'm being unkind to them... must be the hour and my hunger speaking
Wolf_in_blue: Ah, and what of Skull or Eugene as is his proper moniker
Gold_ranger: I dunno, I've only been to the place once. Didn't see him.
Gold_ranger: Bulk was behind the bar.
Wolf_in_blue: I see. I wonder what they would do if we walked in together, you, me, Kim and Zack?

Gold_ranger: you know, that's what we should do one night this week. Get the five of us together and go out on the town. I hear it's got a good night scene.
Wolf_in_blue: I hope so... I've been spoiled by the night life in Chicago.
Gold_ranger: hell, you may just fine someone there that night.

It was good to hear from Billy after my workout/assault earlier today. I was touched by his concern for me.

Wolf_in_blue: Yes... the wolf is my totem guide, she's always walked with me I was just too wrapped up in my own pity to know she'd never left me

Earlier today while I was training I was ambushed by about six Incognitos. And even though I was pretty warmed up after...well, working my ass off, I had a bit of trouble with them. See, I've been...distracted.

It's been about 24 hours since Billy set the scanners on permanent watch for Tommy. I'm really worried about him. If it goes on too long without any trace of him I may have to look for answers myself.

Been training like hell for the past couple of days, that explains why I haven't been posting on here as often as others. My entire body is as stiff as a board. Perhaps a long hot bath will help some.

Wolf_in_blue: Trip and the Red Time Force Ranger who is one of Tommy's charges. I have yet to contact or be contacted by him. I believe he posted commentary in your blog.

Wolf_in_blue: Brilliance is not the only requirement of leadership
Wolf_in_blue: It takes many things to be a great leader Jase, and while intellect is a huge part of it, there are other factors to consider. I'm not the man you knew when I went off-planet.

Wolf_in_blue: I've been feeling animosity towards him since the Zeo era of our run.
Wolf_in_blue: I felt like he was a little too relieved at me stepping down and said nothing to me about it, either as a friend or leader. Not to mention how overjoyed he seemed when I could not resume my place on the team by acquiring the Gold powers... he seemed inordinately pleased at your return to the team.
Wolf_in_blue: things have been tense for some time between us

Gold_ranger: I was kinda bummed out you didn't get the Gold Power either.
Wolf_in_blue: damn negative protons...
Wolf_in_blue: which until then were only a theory... figures i'd find out they exist in such a manner.
Gold_ranger: but the fall of the Command Center happened...what, months before Trey first came to Earth?
Wolf_in_blue: yes and the Power Chamber rose from its ashes... there was apparently a back up plan in case of attack.
Gold_ranger: Do you know if you're still riddled with negative protons?
Wolf_in_blue: I'd have to undergo some tests at the Command centre. I would think the amount is significantly decreased or there is no conflict with the Ninjetti powers since they have a different power source.
Gold_ranger: I figured you'd have less of them on you.
Wolf_in_blue: maybe they have leeched out of my system after the treatements on Aquitar.. I can only hope so.
Gold_ranger: I mean, they couldn't stay there forever, right?
Wolf_in_blue: Hmm my first instinct is to say no, but if I've been affected on a cellular level, then who knows if I would ever rid myself completely of them? either way, I've suffered no ill effects from the return of my powers as of yet.
Gold_ranger: well, good to know you're still in good health.
Wolf_in_blue: yes, thank the Gods for small favors. speaking of one's health, how are you? you mentioned training quite vigorously in one of your blog posts earlier.
Gold_ranger: Yeah, it's kept me in pretty good shape
Gold_ranger: best I've ever felt
Wolf_in_blue: Good, I feared you had overexerted yourself in your training endeavors.
Gold_ranger: I have every once in a while, but I'm getting better at not doing that.
Gold_ranger: Hell, after I lost the Gold Power I sometimes trained until I collapsed.
Wolf_in_blue: Jase, do I have to sic Kim on you?
Wolf_in_blue: after you lost the Gold power, be glad you were still alive... I heard of the difficulties you encountered during your recovery.
Gold_ranger: yeah, they weren't pretty.
Gold_ranger: basically it was like what Trey was going through.
Gold_ranger: Only about 3x as fast.
Wolf_in_blue: *shudder* I understand... I had some rather difficult days during my recovery process as well. My fear of drowning did nothing to alleviate the problems either. I often wonder what possessed me to think I'd be happy on a water planet?

Wolf_in_blue: i.. often had nightmares afterward. Even though I've beaten my fear of fish, I still have an irrational fear of drowning.
Wolf_in_blue: despite the assurances I would not expire during immersion in the healing tanks, I often would panic for a while...
Gold_ranger: what happened when you did? did they just give you a lot of sedatives?
Wolf_in_blue: No, because it would interefere with the treatments. I would take a moment to collect myself, and the start over. Once they figured out how to pipe music into the healing tank, it helped exponentially.
Wolf_in_blue: I was usually so exhausted I'd pass out rather than sleep afterwards
Gold_ranger: I hate that feeling.
Gold_ranger: especially when you wake up, because you're not really all that rested
Wolf_in_blue: as do I

Wolf_in_blue: I could go for another nap actually but if I do, I'll be awake at odd hours

It was good to hear from Adam - the Green Zeo Ranger - again. And from what I understand, the Red Dino Thunder Ranger (one of "Tommy's Kids", heh) has made his return as well.

Old Rangers are starting to come out of the woodwork. I wonder who will show up next...
